IBEW SCT-3 - AT&T Contract Extended-Bargaining Update #2
Updated On: Jun 24, 2022

Friday, June 24, 2022 - 3:00pm (CDT) - The IBEW SCT-3 Council and AT&T have agreed to extend their current collective bargaining agreement while talks to reach a new contract continue.  The agreement, which covers approximately 3000 employees working for AT&T nationwide, primarily in Illinois and Northwest Indiana, was set to expire on June 25, 2022.

The agreement extends the current collective bargaining agreement through 11:59 PM on July 6, 2022.

The inability to come to terms on a new pact does not indicate that the talks are at a stalemate.  The negotiations have progressed but there are still many issues that require further discussions. Our IBEW members have made it clear that several issues must be addressed, including healthcare, wages and the impact current inflation is having on our members and their families, to name just a few.

All of our AT&T members are considered to be Essential Workers by the government during the ongoing pandemic and we expect  AT&T  to recognize the value they bring to the corporation, especially during these uncertain times.

These are the same essential workers who were there when AT&T needed them the most during the pandemic.  Sadly, several of the company's proposals have reflected the attitude many managers have also displayed to those who work for them; they just don’t care about them and that their employees just don’t matter.

The IBEW bargaining team remains committed to reaching a fair agreement for the hard working IBEW members working at AT&T, those who have made AT&T one of the most successful corporations in the world and leaders of the Big Business Roundtable.

All IBEW members need to be ready to act.  All Union Stewards should make sure to build their contact lists so information can be spread quickly to those in their work groups.
