Premise Technician Overtime Payment Issue Fixed

February 16, 2018
During 2017 bargaining improvements were made in the overtime language for Premise Technicians (Appendix C Article 5.03). Personal Days and Floating Holidays are now included in the calculation of hours counted towards weekly overtime. The language took effect on June 25, 2017 but the company’s payroll systems were not updated to include this provision.
Once we found out about the problem from our Steward in Naperville we contacted management. They told us a fix would be made by December 2017 but there was an additional delay due to continued programming problems with the company’s payroll system. We are happy to announce the issue has been resolved.
Premise Technicians who were affected since June 25, 2017 will be receiving a retroactive overtime pay correction on either their February 16th or February 23rd check, depending on their pay cycle.
Premise Technicians who took a Personal Day or Floating Holiday and worked overtime during that same week should make sure they receive their overtime payment adjustment. If you have any questions please contact your Chief Steward or Business Representative.
