AT&T CORE Annual Enrollment for 2020 Benefits
The Annual Enrollment period for AT&T CORE Employees begins on Monday, October 14th at 7 a.m. and will continue through Friday, November 15th at 7 p.m. Enrollment content and information will be available for review Monday, October 7th on the AT&T Benefits website, giving you an additional week to research your options before making elections. Enrollment can be completed online (att.com/benefitscenter), by phone (1-877-722-0020) or from your mobile device.
Your benefit options for 2020 will be much like 2019 with a few changes.
Monthly contributions, Deductibles, and Annual Out-of-Pocket Maximums are changing.
Remember that the PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), ONA (Out-of-Network Area), and HCN (Health Care Network) bargained plans are available as either Option 1 or Option 2.
Option 1 and Option 2 are the same AT&T Midwest Medical Program with different cost sharing structures. That means that you will get the same services covered but your Monthly Contributions, Deductibles, Out-of-Pocket Maximums, and Coinsurance amounts will be different for each option.
Option 2 is a high deductible health plan (HDHP) and those who enroll in Option 2 can contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA). Keep in mind that if you contribute to a HSA and a FSA, your FSA will be limited to Dental and Vision expenses. For more details on HSAs and FSAs review the Annual Enrollment content online. The maximum annual contributions for HSAs and FSAs are increasing for the 2020 plan year.
Deductibles count toward your Out-of-Pocket Maximum. With Option 2 the Deductible and Annual Out-of-Pocket Maximums are integrated with the prescription drug plan.
Employees who elect medical coverage or default into medical coverage during Annual Enrollment will be auto enrolled into CarePlus. The Contribution Holiday for CarePlus will continue through 2020. The company will notify employees in advance when it ends and employees will have the opportunity to continue with CarePlus coverage or opt out.
Medical plans available to you can change based on your zip code, so check and confirm that the plan you are currently enrolled in is still available for 2020. If your current plan is not offered in 2020, you will automatically be enrolled in the lowest-cost self-insured option available to you unless you actively enroll.
It is important that you review your current coverage and available options. Don’t assume that you will default to your current coverage if you make no changes. Your current plan may not be an available option! You can review your available options and Health Plan Comparison Charts online at att.com/benefitscenter.

Taking a moment to review your options and confirm your elections now can prevent unnecessary grief later.
Other Benefit Changes Coming in 2020
Effective January 1st, 2020:
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will no longer be administered by Beacon Health Options and instead will be administered by Optum Behavioral Health. For assistance visit www.liveandworkwell.com {Access Code: ATT}, or call (866) 263-9253.
The Mental Health/Substance Use Disorder benefits administration for company self-insured (bargained) plans will transition from Beacon Health Options to the Medical Benefits Administrator (Blue Cross Blue Shield). Participants who have received care from a MH/SUD Provider who is not in the BCBS Network were mailed letters on October 1st with instructions and referral to the Medical SPD for Transition of Care eligibility.
Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy coverage for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) will move from CarePlus to the Medical Program because it is no longer considered experimental. Participants authorized and receiving ABA treatment were mailed letters on September 30th with instruction and referral to the Medical SPD for Transition of Care eligibility.
Due to the changes to the MH/SUD administrators everyone enrolled in a company self-insured (bargained) plan will receive new Medical ID cards with updated contact information from BCBS for the 2020 plan year.
On a side note…
Castlight, the Health and Wellness Program vendor is now offering a rewards program where employees can earn points by participating in activities and can use the points to enter sweepstakes and possibly win prizes (gift cards). Participation in the Health and Wellness Program, as well as the new rewards program, is voluntary and completely optional. That being said, be careful with what personal and medical information you choose to share with this or any other company.
