AT&T Members - Tobacco Cessation and Surcharge
November 13, 2023

Attention AT&T Employees:

The Annual Enrollment process for 2024 benefits required ALL employees to attest to their tobacco status to determine if a Tobacco User Surcharge ($75 per person) will be applied to their Medical monthly contribution.  This attestation will also be used to determine Supplemental Life Insurance rates.

If you did not go through the enrollment process to attest that you or your spouse are NOT a Tobacco User, or if you did indicate that you or your spouse are a Tobacco User, then the Tobacco User Surcharge will automatically be applied to your Medical Monthly Contributions effective January 2024.

If you want to prevent the Tobacco User Surcharge from being applied in January 2024, you must complete a six (6) week Tobacco Cessation Program before the end of this year 2023. If you complete the Tobacco Cessation Program after the end of this year, the Surcharge will be removed based on the month in which you complete the program. See the Medical Program SPD for details.

To access the Tobacco Cessation Program, go to my.pelagohealth.com/att and register. You must then download the Pelago app to complete the program.
