AT&T CORE Annual Enrollment for 2022 Benefits

The Annual Enrollment period for AT&T CORE Employees (Green Contract) began on Monday, October 18th and will continue through Friday, November 12th.

Your benefit options for 2022 will be much like 2021 with a few changes.

Monthly contributions, Deductibles, and Annual Out-of-Pocket Maximums are changing.

Remember that the PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), ONA (Out-of-Network Area), and HCN (Health Care Network) bargained plans are available as either Option 1 or Option 2.

Option 1 and Option 2 are the same AT&T Midwest Medical Program with different cost sharing structures. That means that you will get the same services covered but your Monthly Contributions, Deductibles, Out-of-Pocket Maximums, and Coinsurance amounts will be different for each option.

Option 2 is a high deductible health plan (HDHP) and those who enroll in Option 2 can contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA).  Keep in mind that if you contribute to a HSA and a FSA, your FSA will be limited to Dental and Vision expenses. The maximum annual contributions for HSAs and FSAs are increasing for the 2022 plan year. For more details on HSAs and FSAs review the Annual Enrollment content online.

Deductibles count toward your Out-of-Pocket Maximum. With Option 2 plans the Deductible and Annual Out-of-Pocket Maximums are integrated with the prescription drug plan.

The Contribution Holiday for CarePlus is ending this year on December 31st. In order to continue enrollment in CarePlus for the new Plan Year 2022 employees must make an active election during the Open Enrollment Period. The Monthly Contributions for CarePlus in 2022 are $1 for Individual Coverage and $3 for Family Coverage.

Employees who enroll in CarePlus will have access to a new solution for back-up care for children and adults through Bright Horizons. This program includes up to five days a year back-up care for dependents in a center or with an in-home caretaker for work related needs. The dependents must also be enrolled in CarePlus to qualify for care services.

Medical plans available to you can change based on your zip code, so check and confirm that the plan you are currently enrolled in is still available for 2022. If your current plan is not offered in 2022, you will automatically be enrolled in the lowest-cost self-insured option available to you unless you actively enroll. This means that you will likely be enrolled in an Option 2 High Deductible Plan unless you take action during the Annual Enrollment Period.

It is important that you review your current coverage and available options. Don’t assume that you will default to your current coverage if you make no changes. Your current plan may not be an available option! You can review your available options and Health Plan Comparison Charts online at att.com/benefitscenter.

Enrollment can be completed online (att.com/benefitscenter), by phone (1-877-722-0020) or from your mobile device. Once you complete your enrollment review your Enrollment Confirmation for accuracy and keep a copy for your records.

Taking a moment to review your options and confirm your elections now can prevent unnecessary grief later.

Other Benefit Changes Coming in 2022

AT&T is making a big push for employees to use Grand Rounds as “Your Personal Healthcare Management Team”. So much so, that they are issuing new Medical ID Cards, which will include the Grand Rounds contact number, to everyone enrolled in the Self-funded Medical Plans with Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you are enrolled in the BCBS PPO, ONA, or HCN options you will be receiving a new Medical ID Card for 2022.

Another change you will notice during your Annual Enrollment is the addition of Ancillary Benefits to the Annual Enrollment Process. Ancillary Benefits include four benefits that were previously offered through the Voluntary Benefits Platform with Mercer. There new Ancillary Benefits will be administered by MetLife and include: Critical Illness Insurance, Accident Insurance, Hospital Indemnity, and Legal Services. If you are interested in any of these additional benefit options please review the Annual Enrollment Guide and the AT&T Ancillary Benefits Program SPD for details.
