Tuesday, June 11, 2019 - The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 21 (IBEW 21) and Lake County, Indiana 911 Center representatives reached a tentative agreement on a new contract covering dispatchers working at the Lake County Indiana Emergency Call Center.
The new tentative agreement must be voted on and accepted by the members of IBEW 21 and the Lake County Board. The contract will be presented to IBEW 21 members over the next few weeks through meetings and other communications.
IBEW 21 and Lake County representatives agreed there are several issues affecting both parties. These talks addressed their concerns. Wages and working conditions are always bargaining priorities which are addressed in the new agreement. We will continue to have discussions on implementation of this agreement and continue to build our partnership.
After reviewing the new contract we feel our Lake County Indiana call center members will agree with the officers and representatives of IBEW 21 and vote to accept the tentative agreement. Once the agreement is accepted by the membership of IBEW 21 officials from Lake County, Indiana must then approve the agreement that was reached between IBEW 21 and representatives from the 911 Center.
Complete ratification information and detailed contractual changes will be provided as soon as possible. We would like to thank everyone for their involvement. If you have any questions please contact IBEW 21 Business representative Byron Bonham at 708-446-9277 or email him at bbonham@ibew21.org.
