Kids on Break Driving You Nuts? – Let Them Earn You Some Cash!
Updated On: Dec 362, 2017

December 28, 2017

Now that they’ve opened all their presents it’s time to put the kids to work on paying for all those gifts!

Your kids can spend the rest of their break working on their submissions for an IBEW Local Union 21 or Chicago Federation of Labor scholarship.

Our Local union is proud to offer, on an annual basis, the IBEW Local Union 21 Scholarship Program, available to all IBEW Local Union 21 members and their immediate family. Each year, our Local awards up to eight winners scholarships of $1000 each.

Applicants must submit their application and a minimum of a 1,000 word essay; double spaced in Times New Roman, size 12 font. No plagiarism. In addition to the essay you can also show your creativity through a video, photograph, or music. More information and an application can be found by clicking here.

This year there are two topics to choose from for their essay.

“How can the Union grow stronger in the wake of Right to Work?” or
“What do you get from growing up in a Union home?”

Applications must be received by Friday May 4, 2018.

The Chicago Federation of Labor will award 10 college scholarships to high school seniors, valued at $2,000 each, to five winners of the Academic Competition and five winners of the Random Drawing.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018. Complete details are included with each application.  Applications for the 2018 William A. Lee Memorial Scholarship are now available online here.
