Our community outreach initiative continues to move forward. In March, we will be holding solidarity events by hitting the streets to help the children served by Mercy Home. They have expanded their annual public outreach fundraising campaign and are asking IBEW 21 members, retirees and their family members to help raise funds and spread awareness about the plight of abused, neglected and abandoned young people.
We need IBEW 21 members to volunteer at five St. Patrick’s Day parades in the Chicagoland area to assist with Mercy Home’s “March for Kids” campaign, which is a fundraising program that supports their efforts to provide a safe and loving home for their kids in crisis. Mercy Home gives young people opportunities to build confidence and acquire the skills they need to build more hopeful successful futures.
We are asking the IBEW 21 family to help those served by Mercy Home reach their goals by volunteering. Teams of volunteers will be out in force along the parade routes collecting donations and handing out Mercy Home’s special shamrock stickers as a way of saying thank you. The shamrocks symbolize our support for kids in crisis.
