Dec 17, 2013 - Help Those Affected by Illinois Tornadoes
May 07, 2015
December 17, 2013

It’s been a month since devastating tornadoes tore apart the lives of many families in Illinois. While time has passed and the story is no longer front page news or the lead story on local newscasts the need for help remains. Families are still struggling to recover and rebuild.

You have an opportunity to help these families by donating to the IBEW 21 Days of Giving. Food banks from across our area are partnering with agencies assisting in the recovery efforts.  They have already sent truckloads of donations, however the need for assistance persists in the long-term recovery effort. The food banks we are supporting need your help restocking so they can continue fighting hunger and assisting those families that now find themselves in need because the tornadoes.

IBEW Local 21 Business Representatives and Chief Stewards will be collecting donations from all IBEW 21 work locations this week. If you haven’t contributed to the IBEW 21 Days of Giving please bring in your donations today.

The recovery efforts will continue long after you read this message. In the months ahead IBEW Local 21 will be looking for opportunities for our members and retirees to assist those in need. By volunteering in solidarity we all can make a difference in the communities where we live and work.

If you’re unable to drop off your donations but would still like to participate in the IBEW 21 Days of Giving you can donate online by clicking here.
