Dec 04, 2013 - IBEW 21 Days of Giving Volunteers Needed
May 07, 2015

December 4, 2013

As many of you know the IBEW 21 Days of Giving has begun. In addition to the food drive we are asking our members and retirees to help build our sense of community with one another by volunteering in the communities where we live and work.

We need your help on December 19th from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. We will be joining Mercy Home for Boys & Girls as they welcome back their “alumni” during their Aftercare Christmas party.

Mercy Home is a Chicago children’s charity dedicated to providing kids in crisis with the support and guidance they need to realize their own potential. At Mercy Home young people have many opportunities to build confidence and acquire the skills they need to build successful futures. Read more about Mercy Home by clicking here

IBEW 21 volunteers are needed at the event to fill a number of roles such as setting up, guest check-in, assisting with kid’s activities, the toy table and helping Santa. Mercy Home is located at 1140 W. Jackson Blvd.

This is a busy time of year for all of us. Please help us brighten the holidays for the children served by Mercy Home. If you or others in your work location want to volunteer please contact Bob Przybylinski or Dave Webster in the IBEW 21 Union hall at 630-960-4466 exts. 447 & 449 or by email at bobp@ibew21.org or dwebster@ibew21.org.

IBEW 21 Days of Giving Food Fact

Mercy Home receives food for their children from the Greater Chicagoland Food Depository. If you can’t volunteer at the holiday event you can still help Mercy Home by donating to the Greater Chicagoland Food Depository. We have been told $1000 can feed Mercy Home’s children for nearly six months!  You can help them by donating to the IBEW 21 Days of Giving” food drive online by clicking here
