IBEW Founders’ Scholarship Deadline is May 1, 2010

Offered by the IBEW International, and to be used solely by IBEW members, the IBEW Founders' Scholarship honors the dedicated wiremen and linemen who, on November 28, 1891, organized the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The IBEW Founders’ Scholarship Program is a valuable benefit and we encourage all members to apply.

This award is for $200 per semester credit hour at any accredited college or university toward an initial bachelor's degree in an approved field. All materials must be postmarked prior to May 1 of the scholarship year. [More]

CROSS BOX SAFETY ALERT
A safety alert was issued for all of the new 3-M aerial cross boxes with the model #3M4295. No member should climb up to these boxes unless they are properly trained on the new access process. Without this new training, the only way to access these 3-M boxes is with the use of a bucket truck. [More]

Hour Lunches in I&R
As many of you are aware, in I& R, AT&T management is mandating that our members in Illinois take an hour lunch effective this Sunday, February 14th. The hour lunch was implemented in Indiana a couple weeks ago. All good Union members understand that no work is to be performed during lunch or break periods or other unpaid time including before work. [More]
