Global Markets News Update
The Global Markets arbitration case concerning the illegal movement of 137 jobs outside of IBEW Local 21's jurisdiction and the subsequent layoff/surplus case continued in arbitration on Tuesday, January 9, 2007. Our Union completed the presentation of its case in chief on that day. The Company now will present its rebuttal to the Arbitrator on the next scheduled hearing date on March 12, 2007.

34 Laid-off Technicians to Be Offered New Premise Technician Jobs
There is good news to report at SBC DataComm. As a result of IBEW Local 21 and AT&T reaching a comprehensive Memorandum of Agreement last month on the new Premises Technician job title, 34 laid-off SBC DataComm technicians are being offered jobs in this new job title. [More]
IMPORTANT – DON’T LOSE YOUR DEPENDANT HEALTH & LIFE INSURANCE!
As has been reported at the monthly unit meetings, AT&T performed a dependent audit for all AT&T employees. This began during August last year. Each AT&T employee who has a dependent, spouse, registered domestic partner or child, had to send in certain documents to support that the dependents were legitimate. If no information was received by AT&T, the dependents would be automatically dropped from health (medical, dental, vision) and life insurance coverage. [More]
