Since AT&T’s announcement of job cuts in late 2012, IBEW Local 21 representatives have been working to minimize the negative impact the cuts will have on our members and their families. The original off payroll date was scheduled to be today, but it has been extended until Friday, February 15, 2013.
Many members have taken the voluntary separation package (VSIPP) which reduced the number of employees who would have unwillingly lost their job; other affected members found other positions within the company. Your Union representatives did find discrepancies in some of the company’s documentation. We will continue working on the surplus process until all open positions are properly filled.
