April 17, 2012 - Since AT&T’s April 4, 2012 surplus announcement of employees, IBEW Local 21 representatives have had several discussions with the Company. Our focus has been minimizing the negative impact of AT&T’s surplus decision on its employees, members of our local union.
As some of you already know, AT&T responded yesterday to our request that they offer SIPP to I&M and 1st mile. AT&T said, at this time, neither I&M nor 1st Mile is willing to offer SIPP. However, AT&T has agreed to open the V-SIPP offer again, on a one-time non-precedent setting basis, and leave the offer open until April 30, 2012. It is important to note, this offer is for all employees. That means all members of the bargaining unit.
Again – the V-SIPP offer is now open to all AT&T employees. If you are interested in the V-SIPP offer, you must submit a V-SIPP form. To do this, go to HR One Stop. Once there, click on Career Matters. Next, click on Midwest Region Staffing Guidelines. Next, click on Forms, and then, click on Surplus Forms. The form you are looking for is titled IBEW- Voluntary Supplemental Income Protection Program, VSIPP Candidate Request Form. The next step is to print the form, fill it out completely and fax the form to 312-464-7954. You must submit the form before April 30, 2012.
If you have any questions or need assistance, talk to your immediate supervisor.
