Remembering Those Who Died or Were Injured
Apr 27, 2016

April 27, 2016

Tomorrow, we are asking all IBEW 21 members to observe a moment of silence and to wear a Union shirt, pin or other union item to honor our Sisters and Brothers and all workers who may have died or were injured while at work. Please also take the time to talk about working safely.

April 28th is Workers Memorial Day and also the day OSHA was established in 1971. As Mother Jones famously said, “We pray for the dead and fight like hell for the living.

A list of Workers Day Memorial Day events in Illinois can be found here for our members working in other states please click here. If you would like to learn more about Workers Memorial Day you can visit the AFL-CIO’s webpage.
